I did this design really quickly. Ideas went flowing and I was quite satisfied with the results. I think it was Friday. On Sunday, somebody said me: - Are you going to the cinema? They're showing that movie about Spiderman, and it's Spiderman against Venom. - Versus who? Venom, oh my Gosh... hehe :-) the unconscious sometimes makes this kind of tricks. I love superheroes, their appearance, and I also think the're beneficial as a role-model. By the way, look at this quiz. It's great and quite entertaining, I loved it. I got 90% of Wonder Woman. Not really bad, isn't it? ;-) They say comparisons are usually hateful, but this one is really cool. I don't know much about Wonder Woman. I'll try to get some info. I admire comic illustrators. In fact, my favorite one is the Peruvian Boris Vallejo, who shows beautiful and strong dark haired women instead of the so seen stereotype of fragile women. I always thought that having a myth or hero is really a benefit for oneself. You try to have a role-model and try to reach his merits. Up the mythomaniacs!!! I can tell something about famous mythomaniacs. For example, Alexander the Great, whose favorite book was the Iliad. By trying to emulate his heroes he conquered the entire known world. Without Alexander the Great, the world had not become as we know it. His conquers were the medium to spread the culture that came after him. Later on after him, it came a long chain of people who admired him, and tried to go beyond. They all got great things. (As a curious note, they say Alexander had a long blond hair, like the medieval myth of the blue prince. His personality inspired the ideal of the medieval knights: tell the truth, be brave, seek justice, be compassionate. ) For those willing to know about Alexander, I recommend to read Plutarch, Arrian or Quintus Curtius Rufus, as those are the original sources about him. The rest of writers, the modern writers, they actually write based on other people's writings. Soy they deform the reality until the person they talk about is not the same. Same with annotations of the translators in many books. Historic novels have the risk to make it hard to distinguish fiction and reality. And sometimes, we get a mistaken vision of reality. Another mythomaniac was Julius Caesar, who idealized the figure of Alexander the Great. Julius Caesar was a wealthy patrician -not too much- with poor health but with a strong spirit. He had everything against him, and was very unlucky. (Not as Alexander, who was really fortunate; Arrian tells how a crossbow dart hit him in one of his lungs, but not killed him) He was not as strong as Alexander, nor as healthy, nor was the son of a king. But nothing could make him surrender. His admiration for Alexander made him stronger and determined. In one of Plutarch stories it's told that Julius Caesar was in a tent in Hispania. He was crying because he had the age of Alexander when he died, and Julius had not begun to conquer his empire yet. But after that, this great mithomaniac called Caesar wrote his lifetime through centuries and was remembered for ages until now. Another famous mithomaniac, Cristobal Colon, was all his life and childhood reading about the adventures of Marco Polo. He dreamed to do long journeys, and meet unknown cultures. That bring him to the Spanish court of Isabel the Catholic Queen, and Fernando the Catholic. After knocking several doors, he was able to make Isabel -who was a hard and strict queen- finance his journey to India. What did he told her that made Isabel sold her jewels for this unknown guy -Cristobal Colon- that in a slip discovered America? And the last mithomaniac we can tell: Napoleon, whose idol was Julius Caesar. Let us all have myths, and let's want to go beyond them. Let's have heroes. Maybe they take us beyond we never dreamed. Let us be daydreaming and maybe some day someone would like to emulate us in a distant place.

I really enjoyed myself doing "Pollo Loco" (the mad chicken). I heard the phrase "pollo loco" to a friend of Arizona. When talking about my President, he said that he was a "pollo loco". It was so fun that in few days I did this design. Fortunate those who don't feel ashamed by their politics. But it's too sad to compare this chicken with any politic, as most of them are not fun but shaming or terrific, or both. This "pollo loco, muy loco", has seen the news on TV, I think, and that's why it has become mad.

Nobody can extinguish my fire, my inner fire. Nobody can't control our ideas. Say go to hell to all those people that want to put an end to individualism. We aren't flocks of people, we are persons, and we want to be ourselves. We have the right to rebel, to be free. Go to hell all those politics, the teams we are pushed to choose, the collectives, TV programs that with their rubbish TV try to create "opinion". We ourselves already have an opinion, damn the alienating and manipulating society. Nobody can extinguish our fire neither with their one million of fireman truck. No one can beat us; we have fire inside us, we live to the limit, and live each moment as it was the last of our lives. Nobody can't put an end to this, no one can extinguish our fire.

When I did this design I was thinking in various things. In this consume society, all seems to have an end date: friendships, love, work, ideas... everything. I thought about music, rock, specially about Heavy Metal. When something has the adjective of classic, it is safe from being thrown to the pyre. For that people - who think that Heavy has died, that friendship doesn't exists, that love is pure fiction - with this composition we give to them a kick in the face. Classics never die, the remain there for all those who can understand. Though it's clear, honey was not made for a donkey mouth. You know what I mean.

I love cats. I have a cat called Lilit. I always say it's a present from God. This furry ball gives me so much happiness. Frisky, playful, curious, sleepy, even lazy... It's always by my side purring in the night. Absolutely charming, that is the image of a cat under the moon, playing with the stars, playing in freedom under the moonlight. Free without fears under the night sky. Do you guess what I like most about cats? You have to win their affection, and when you get it, you also find the complicity in their eyes, in their moves. Let us all do as the cats, let's be free and wild under the moonlight. PD: If you end doing like the cat and making acrobatics under the moon, trying to catch the stars, remember: that video may be a success in YouTube !!! hahahahaaha ;-)

When I did "The Dawn" I went back to the worst night of my life.The night when my father died. The night in which I felt desolated. He was gone. I will never be able to win his approval. The game was over. Who can say that never felt this way? Who has never have felt such a desolation in their heart? Who has never had to wake up the day after and continue walking? We all learn since we are children to fall and stand up again, and we will continue doing so to the end of our life. We all are heroes in our lives, perhaps the others don't know it but we do. We fight in battles, they hurt us to death, but we stand. We all are warriors of our life; each day, each second, taking challenges, without trusting our strength, falling again but after all, rising again.

About this blog This blog has a main intention and is entertainment. To tell good stories, so then you can tell these same stories to others. But all of them are based in history, culture, art... This isn't a blog just to read and to have just a good time. Yes, you will have a good time, but at the same time you will learn many things about many topics in a short time. I have passed all my life reading and I see a big trouble with almost all books, and it's that sometimes they're a bit exasperating to read because there's a lot of dates, information without relevance... And finally you read a book of 500 pages and the relevant information could fill 100 pages. In my posts I only put the essence of the topic. I only try to make the dirty work so you can read only the most important. The blog has 12 categories: 1- Mythology and Fantasy: About beings, events, stories, things... linking to mythology and fantasy. 2- Legends and Tales: I always liked legends and tales. I think that it's a good way to learn about human relationships trough a fictitious situation. Sometimes it's difficult to see a solution for our troubles, but is more easy to see a good solution in other person. To see the troubles far away makes us to have a better perspective. Tales and legends have this effect. 3- Comic and Cartoons: People who make comics and cartoons make a big artistic work, and they and their works must be recognized and remembered. 4- Art: This section goes about art in general, artists, artworks, videos... Videos in this blog are carefully chosen. I recommend you to see them. Most of them go about art or nature, always of great beauty, and frame the subjects. 5- Music: In this category you can find songs, lyrics, bands, musicians, singers... I always liked heavy metal. When you like this genre you get in touch with people of all ages. People older than you that tell you about rock in the 60s or 70s. And you hear that music, and in my case I got to like this music more than my generation's. I began to hear that old music: Janis Joplin, Jimmy Hendrix... And I saw in all that a new world to discover. I read a lot of biographies, heard a lot of old works and I saw a big world with influences in other musics. I discovered the blues (I love playing blues in my guitar), country, world music, jazz, folk... All those styles are in the music of genius like Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Jethro Tull... Since I was a child, I also heard classic music: Debussy, Tchaikovsky, Rimsky Korsakov, Bach... All this music you can find it here, may be old music, sometimes not, but I only make you a different proposal. Maybe you could discover something too. 6- The life of: It goes about people who deserve to be remembered. 7- Cinema and Movies: You will find here movies, actors, directors, lists of the top ten films... I don't want to make the typical list of details of actors, directors, production, etc. Because this isn't a blog of cinema. I will only emphasize the argument, anecdotes... 8- Nature and Animals: I love nature. For me this section is very important. I can't live away from nature and usually I need to go to the country. I like animals. I have a cat. I love cats. I think that cats are the most intelligent and frisky pets. I have an aquarium too, with tropical fishes, and in my home there are many plants. My home is in front of the sea, I love the peaceful life. To know about nature and animals makes to have a big respect for life. And that is very important. Helps to respect to others and to have more respect to oneself. 9- Frontier of reality: Treats about events that are in the limits of what science can explain. 10- Thoughts: It's the most personal of the sections. With it I just show my own thoughts, opinions, dreams, memories... 11- About designs: Goes about my work, my experiences when I create a design, what inspired me... 12- Miscellaneous: All that can't be placed in the previous categories. About me Talking about oneself is talk about people who you love and your relationships. Those can be a big influence in oneself. There were mainly three persons that were very influential on me: my grandfather, my father and my husband. I have lived a long time with my grandparents. My grandfather was a exceptional man. He was musician, actor, historian... A very cultured person, and I always liked to be with him. He used to tell me about stories. He was Christian like me and he showed me a lot of things. I am very influenced by him. My father... My relation with him was love/hate. He was a very busy men, and very centered in his work. I admired him so much and I always wanted to get his approval. He was an editor, so I remember my childhood running between thousands of books. The smell of an old book is the best perfume. We had a common interest: nature. And from time to time, we went to the country. My father was very good in history, philosophy, geography... We used to play to Trivial Pursuit often. He told me once: "Emma, you probably never will find a man to share your life with. You are pretty, intelligent, with a big personality... Never a man wanted a girl as you." I answered him: "So dad I only need to find a man better than me..." I met my husband when I was 17 years old, and since I know him I feel as a complete person. I met my husband Jordi trough a heavy rock magazine, he wrote in it and I wrote him. After 9 letters, he said me that he was in love with me and he was going to travel 1200 kilometers to meet me. For two years we had a distance relationship and then I went to his city to live with him, and after 6 months we got married. Jordi is the person who is more alike to me, has the same likes, and above all he understands me completely. I feel that I grow with him and each moment is for and by him. With him I share everything. He is always by my side in the better and the worse moments. Even in the worse year of my life: the year in which I lost my grandfather and my father. We life in front of the sea, in a peaceful life with our furry cat. The most blessed day for me was the day I met my husband. About my work I began to work in the WWW in a page of retro games. My husband, the programmer Jordi R. Cardona asked me to write some biographies and help him with the aesthetic design. We had an recognition from Lycos for having a lot of visits in very little time. Jordi R. Cardona began to be very interested in virtual reality, and me with him. I helped with the design, and with some ideas for his worlds in 3D. His worlds, pages and forum were very praised by an important magazine in my country called Computer Hoy. Our world in 3D was shown as example in the University of Barcelona. I began to make avatars in 3D for virtual worlds with big success, and this helped me to decide myself to start (and conclude) my studies of graphics design. Since I was a child, my obsession was to make people happy, and always thought that Art was the way to achieve this. To be part of other people's lives. Extend my existence far beyond than my eyes could see. Digital art has given me that, it has given me so much... Sometimes I wonder who will wear my designs, I wonder who could be, and I let my imagination fly. I imagine babies with my bibs, bodysuits, laughing and playing under the sun. The breakfast of every morning with one of my mugs... I use to surround myself with things that I like, that give peace to me... as everybody, I suppose. If the things that give peace to the others are some of my products with my designs, then I have succeed. You all are part of my life and I am a little part of yours.
